1/2 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Vegan Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Braggs Liquid Amino Acid
1 Teaspoon Liquid Smoke
2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
1 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
2 Sesame Burger Buns
2 Large Romaine Lettuce Leaf's
4 Slices Vegan Smokey Gouda Cheese (we used Parmela Creamery vegan cheese)
1 Large Tomato
1/4 Cup Vegan Mayonnaise
Method:
Mix the spices, condiments, and water in a flat container or dish.
Place the mushrooms in the marinade; cover well and refrigerate for 6 hours. (marinate for up to 48 hours for a stronger, more flavorful taste.)
Remove from the marinade, shake off any excess liquid and place it on the grill or in a pan over medium heat; flip over when the bottom starts browning; and continue grilling until desired consistency is achieved.
Slice the sesame burger buns and spread a thin layer of mayo on each half.
Layer the Romaine, Tomato Slices, Grilled Portobello Mushroom and Vegan Cheese in any order. (we melted half of the cheese; melting is optional)
